On Saturday, August 25th, twenty-five original "Sculptures Take Flight" fiberglass WACO bi-planes will be sold to the highest bidder an auction to be held at Historic WACO Field.

An Auction Preview Event will take place on Friday, August 24^th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm on Prouty Plaza in Downtown Troy.  Pre-registration for the "Sculptures Take Flight" auction will be available.  Absentee bids will also be taken.  The Auction Preview Event is free and open to the public.

Preceding the auction on Saturday, August 25^th, beginning at 9:00 am is the Annual WACO Vintage Fly-In.  Activities available at the Fly-In include WACO Museum tours, WACO rides, learning center activities, community tent displays, a candy drop, and RC displays.  Visit the WACO Historical Society website at http://www.wacoairmuseum.org/fly_in.htm  for additional information. 

Join us in the evening for the WACO Fly-In Banquet and "Sculptures Take Flight" Auction.  Social hour begins at 6:30 pm, the banquet begins at 7:30 pm, and the auction begins at 8:30 pm.  The banquet is limited to the first 400 reservations.  Tickets for the banquet and the auction are $25.  Tickets to attend only the auction are $5.  To be added to the banquet and/or auction invitation list, please contact Troy Main Street at (937) 339-5455 or email troymainstreet@bizwoh.rr.com.  Banquet and/or auction reservations need to be sent to WACO Historical Society. 

The net proceeds from the auction will benefit Troy Main Street, Inc., WACO Historical Society, and the 2009 Sculptures on the Square exhibition.  The sculptures will remain on display throughout the streets of downtown Troy through September 9^th, and will then take flight to their new permanent locations shortly after.

1.  All sales are final when the auctioneer declares a plane "sold".
2.  Payment in full is due at the time of sale.  Cash or checks made payable to Troy Main Street will be accepted.
3.  All planes are offered "as is" at the time of sale.  No claim will be considered for allowance, adjustment or recission of any sale based upon the failure of the property to correspond to any particular standards or expectations of the buyer.
4.  Each buyer should consult their tax counsel regarding the deductibility of a purchased plane as individual situations vary.
5.  Successful bidders will be responsible for transportation and shipping their planes.  Planes will be available after September 10, 2007.
6.  Upon the award of bid, title (subject to Auctioneer's possessory lien) and all risks of loss, damage to, or destructing of the purchased item, passes to the purchaser.  The Auctioneer, Troy Main Street, and The WACO Historical Society shall have no liability whatsoever for any damage to or destructions of any such loss.
7.  The cement base on which the plane is mounted is included in the auction price.  A square wooden base is available.
8.  Persons serving as authorized agents must submit a letter to Troy Main Street, Inc. prior to the start of the auction.
9.  All pre-bids authorize Troy Main Street, Inc. as the bidder.
